2021 Covid-19 Update

Due to travel and meeting restrictions, our coordinators have had to consider the safety of both the speakers and our members. Please note any possible changes to individual events.

Piecing Partners strives to offer a wide variety of talented and motivational guest speakers.  These gifted presenters teach us many things, not only about quilts and the art of quilting, but how to persevere and grow during the process.  Please join us as we expand our knowledge and perspective!

 

Presentations are given during our morning guild meetings.  Half-Day workshops are typically held the afternoon of the meeting, and Full-Day workshops the following day.

  • Most Half-Day workshops will be from 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm.

  • Most Full-Day workshops will be from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm.

 

Class prices:

  • Half-Day workshops $30 Members/$40 Non-Members

  • Full-Day workshops $55 Members/$70 Non-Members

  • One-and-a-Half Day workshops $85 Members/$110 Non-Members

  • All Class sign ups will be taken starting at the January meeting

 

Payment: ​ We accept checks, cash and credit card for the classes.  Your payment is your receipt and reservation.

Cancellation Policy:  Money will be refunded if someone on the waiting list fills your spot or if the class is canceled.  Otherwise, you will receive a class credit for use on a future class.  Sign-up priority is given to Piecing Partners Quilt Guild members.

Shirley Gisi 

Colorado Springs, CO

"Design Your Own Quilts"

We are privileged to have our own extraordinarily talented and award-winning quilter,  Shirley Gisi. Shirley’s lecture is “Design Your Own Quilts” and will include a display of some of her work.
In addition, Shirley will lead a half-day workshop that afternoon for an intriguing technique in the “Shrink Art” category. Samples of her technique will be displayed at the November meeting, along with sign-up sheets for the workshop. Other methods for workshop sign-up will be presented at a later date in the event you cannot attend the November meeting in person.

Our scheduled speaker, Cindy Brick, has been cancelled due to Covid-19 issues.  Stay tuned as meeting plans are revised.

Member Trunk Show

Members will show several of their quilts focusing on specific techniques.  Great showcase of the talent in our own group.

Judi Arndt, PPQG Member 

Judy is an art quilter, world traveler and fabric collector. Judy will be displaying quilts from fabrics she has collected from her travels from many countries, including Asia and India – just to name a few! Judi, thank you for volunteering to share with us and we look forward to your presentation!

Lisa Soderberg, Quilt Collages 

Lisa is a certified instructor of Laura Heine’s Collage class. She knows the technique, the supplies endorsed, how to choose fabrics and the secrets of making a successful collage quilt!  Website: fabricplayquilting.com

Katie Pasquini Masopust, Fortuna, CA 

Katie travels throughout the world teaching and lecturing about her contemporary quilting theories and techniques.  For nearly 30 years, she has produced high quality contemporary art quilts that have been coveted and collected by a broad range of admirers.  From her early beginnings as a painter dabbling in traditional quilt making, her work has evolved from structured Mandalas and mind-blowing dimensional pieces to very painterly landscapes and abstracts.  Website: www.katiepm.com
